Cancellation Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026
The short version
Cancel before the lender confirms — no money has been charged, so nothing to refund. Cancel a confirmed booking at least 24 hours before pickup — full refund. Cancel within 24 hours of pickup — partial refund. If the lender cancels, you always get a full refund.
If the renter cancels
Before the lender confirms (request is still pending):
- Full release. Your card is only authorized — never charged — until the lender confirms. The authorization drops off within a few business days. The 24-hour rule does not apply yet.
After the lender confirms, 24 hours or more before pickup:
- Full refund of everything you were charged — rental subtotal, service fee, and Lendlet Protection fee.
After the lender confirms, within 24 hours of pickup:
- Rental subtotal:the lender keeps it (less Lendlet's commission). They reserved the item and turned away other requests.
- Service fee (10%): retained by Lendlet — the booking facilitation work was already done.
- Lendlet Protection fee (~5%):refunded to you. The item is never picked up, so there's no protection exposure.
- Card hold: released as normal.
If the lender cancels
The renter receives a full refund of everything charged, including the protection fee, regardless of timing.
Lender-initiated cancellations also count as a strike against the lender's account — both backing out of a pending request and cancelling a confirmed booking. Three strikes in a rolling 90-day window triggers an operations review that may lead to suspension or removal. We do this so renters can rely on confirmed bookings.
How and when you’ll see the refund
- Refunds go back to the original card. Most appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
- Card holds (the deposit-style authorization) are released — not refunded — and typically clear faster than a refund.
- You'll get an email confirmation as soon as the refund is issued. You can also see status on the booking page.
Force majeure
Hurricanes, evacuations, declared emergencies — these happen in Florida. When a force-majeure event affects bookings, Lendlet may override the policy above and issue full refunds. We'll communicate clearly when this is in effect.
How to cancel
Open the booking from My Bookings and use the cancel option. You'll see the exact refund breakdown for your specific booking before you confirm — no surprises.
